Hey there! I’m Carolyn, a New York City-based actor. I’m a recent graduate of Syracuse University with a B.F.A in Musical Theater, and am represented by Pantera/Murphy the Agency.
I’m a true California native, originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Growing up in such a vibrant community meant that the arts were never something I had to search for. Art in its infinite forms is the blood that runs in San Francisco’s veins and is the ever-thumping heartbeat that keeps the city alive and thriving. So, it’s only natural that I grew up developing my own personal passion for music and storytelling.
I am a proud Korean-American. I am passionate about the advocacy for our continued representation on and off the stage and wholeheartedly believe in the importance of telling AAPI stories.
In 2022, I left my lovely home of 18 years to follow my dreams. I traveled 3,000 miles across the country and traded 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) for 1 degree (Bachelor’s) in Musical Theater. 4 years later, I am now a proud graduate of the Musical Theater B.F.A at Syracuse University. (GO ORANGE!!!)
Last summer, I was fortunate enough to make my professional theater debut at the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theater in gorgeous Grand Lake, Colorado, where I performed in Disney’s Frozen, Guys and Dolls, and Footloose in rotating rep. Most recently, I completed my run of Frozen at Syracuse Stage, where I covered Elsa and performed in the ensemble!
I am also an appreciator of: Stephen Sondheim (particularly his writing of women), historical video essays (particularly about Medieval Europe and the Tudor Period), culty group fitness classes, long road trips, a noodle in any form, to be cliché: a latté, and any opportunity to plan something, especially if it involves color-coding.
